What contributes to normal mental performance?

Sleep, water, daylight, movement and steady meals do most of the work. Among nutrients, pantothenic acid contributes to normal mental performance, zinc and iodine to normal cognitive function, and B vitamins, vitamin C and magnesium to normal psychological function. No claim is authorised for "focus" or "brain fog". A VH Life sachet provides each of these at claim level.

Updated Checked against the GB Nutrition and Health Claims Register (19 May 2026 edition)

What affects concentration most?

  • Sleep: short sleep hurts attention first.
  • Water: mild dehydration worsens attention and mood.
  • Meals with protein and fibre, not sugar.
  • Movement and daylight.
  • Caffeine before 2pm, so it is gone by bedtime.

Which nutrients carry mental performance claims?

  • Mental performance: pantothenic acid.
  • Cognitive function: zinc, iodine and iron (VH Life has no iron).
  • Psychological function: thiamin, niacin, vitamins B6, B12 and C, biotin, folate and magnesium.

Do nootropics have authorised claims?

No. "Nootropic" is not a regulated term, and no botanical has an authorised cognitive claim in Great Britain. VH Life contains ashwagandha and lion's mane inside a complex total, and we make no claim for them.

What in VH Life carries an authorised claim?

Thiamin, niacin, biotin and folate are also in VH Life at claim level. It has no added caffeine and is not a stimulant.
