Taking other medicines? Read this first.
- Blood thinners such as warfarin: VH Life contains vitamin K, cranberry, co-enzyme Q10, ginkgo, turmeric and ginseng. If you take warfarin, the NHS advises against vitamin K supplements and cranberry products, so ask your anticoagulant clinic before you start. On another blood thinner such as apixaban, rivaroxaban, clopidogrel or daily aspirin, ask your GP or pharmacist first.
- Thyroid, bone or blood pressure tablets: ask your pharmacist about timing. VH Life contains calcium, magnesium, zinc and biotin.
- Potassium and manganese: each sachet has 470mg potassium and 3mg manganese. The NHS advises older people to take potassium supplements only if a doctor advises it, so please check with your GP first.
- Vitamin D and vitamin A: 62.5µg vitamin D and 900µg vitamin A per sachet. Don’t take it with another multivitamin, cod liver oil or fish liver oil.
- Blood tests: tell the nurse you take biotin (1,000µg a sachet). It can affect some results.

I already take vitamin D. Can I take both?
Check first. One sachet has 62.5µg (2,500 IU) of vitamin D. The NHS says adults shouldn’t take more than 100µg a day from supplements, so add up what you take and ask a pharmacist if you’re not sure.
