What is the best supplement for the liver?
There is one authorised liver claim. Choline contributes to the maintenance of normal liver function, at 82.5mg or more per portion. A VH Life sachet provides 35mg of choline, so the claim does not apply to it. Milk thistle and artichoke are named on the box and carry no authorised claim. The NHS says a healthy weight and staying within alcohol limits help prevent some liver disease.
What does the NHS say?
The NHS says you can help prevent some types of liver disease by maintaining a healthy weight and staying within the recommended alcohol limits, that most types cause no symptoms in the early stages, and to see a GP if you think you might have it. Source: NHS: Liver disease.
