What is the best supplement for the immune system?
Look for vitamin C, vitamin D and zinc, the best known of the nutrients with an authorised claim. Vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system, and vitamin D, zinc, vitamin A, vitamin B6, folate, vitamin B12, selenium and copper carry the same claim. VH Life provides all nine in one daily sachet. No supplement may claim to prevent, shorten or treat a cold.
What does the NHS say?
The NHS says everyone should consider a daily vitamin D supplement during the autumn and winter, because between October and early March we do not make enough from sunlight. Source: NHS: Vitamin D.
